Pharmaceutical and Medical Device constitute as the focus sectors of Madhya Pradesh’s Industrial Promotion Policy. The State hosts several well-established pharmaceutical clusters in Indore, Pithampur, Dewas, Ujjain, Malanpur and Mandideep. Around 350 pharma units with more than 100 formulation manufacturers are currently operational in the state. More than 250 units involved in the production of small parts of medical devices have significant presence across the state.

Automobile & Tyre Industry / Engineering & Heavy Machinery

The automobile industry of Madhya Pradesh is advancing forward in full swing. The largest testing track of Asia – National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) is the crown jewel of Madhya Pradesh’s automotive ecosystem. Pithampur Industrial Area is the automobile hub of the state. Major players like Force Motors, VECV, Mahindra 2 Wheelers, JBM Auto and John Deere have manufacturing units in the state resulting in exports worth US$ 130.9 Million in 2020 from Madhya Pradesh in the automobile sector.

Food Processing / FMCG

Madhya Pradesh is primarily an agrarian economy and is leader in horticulture. A sector specific policy, 8 food parks, a warehousing capacity of nearly 15 million metric tonnes and a cold-storage handling area of over 3,54,000 sq.m contribute significantly in making Madhya Pradesh a lucrative investment destination for food processing industries. Presence of marquee investors like ITC, Britannia, Dabur demonstrate success of MP’s thriving food processing sector.

Madhya Pradesh houses 3 Ordnance factories, Vehicle factory, Grey Iron foundry, Gun Carriage Factory, Air Force Station, Electronic Warfare Range, National Accredited Laboratories, Central Proof establishment and National level Defence and Aerospace training institutes. Presence of such public and private organizations provide the State with conducive ecosystem for forward and backward linkages required for setting up of OEMs and ancillaries.
